Established 4 centuries ago, Mazu Temple is the oldest temple for the worship of the Sea Goddess in Taiwan. Locally known as Tienhou Temple, the ground is listed as a Level One Ancient Monument, the highest level for historic preservations. Full of detailed carvings and paintings, the temple inheres the history and the belief system of the locals in Penghu.
Next to Mazu Temple, Central Old Street is the very first developed neighborhood in Penghu. Accounted as the oldest military dependents' village in Taiwan, Duxing 10th Village was once the home for many veterans.
