Must-Buy

Other than the duty-free international boutiques, cosmetics, tobacco and liquor on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors, snack souvenirs are the must buys while traveling in Penghu. A counter dedicated to snacks of the island is located on the 2nd floor with many varieties of specialties for your choosing. Including salted crackers, winter gourd cakes, XO sauce, spiced squid in sauce, peanut cakes, dried shredded squid, tiny dried fish as well as cakes, gummy and jelly made of cactus. Tips on Taking a Taxi in Penghu

  • Taxis in Penghu do not run meters. Instead, they give a quotation price. It's important to tell the driver about your destination and ask for a quote beforehand.
  • Taxis are not everywhere in Penghu. It's best to call a cab in advance. Please Google the number for a taxi service.

Established 4 centuries ago, Mazu Temple is the oldest temple for the worship of the Sea Goddess in Taiwan. Duxing 10th Village

Chang Yu-Sheng Memorial Museum & Pan An-Pang Memorial

Accounted as the oldest military dependents' village in Taiwan, Duxing 10th Village was once the home for many veterans. The late singer, Chang Yu-Sheng, born in the village, is commemorated in his childhood residence, now Chang Yu-Sheng Memorial Museum; it displays Chang's old photos, manuscripts and awards. Pan An-Pang, another late singer from the village, famed by his song, Grandma's Penghu Bay, also has a memorial here.

Guanyinting Recration Area & Xiying Rainbow Bridge

Nearby the bay, Guanyinting Recreation Area is a vast space with gorgeous views of the shore. Many visitors take a walk, jog and enjoy their leisure time here. In this area, Xiying Rainbow Bridge, one of the most popular attractions in Penghu, is a perfect spot for viewing sunset and to bring your love interest for some couple time. The rainbow-colored lights on the bridge will light up the place at night and paint you a mesmerizing sight; this is also where Penghu International Fireworks Festival takes place.

Before dawn says its good morning, the fishing market has already begun with busy chatters.
